On 28 February, 13 athletes from Kathu Primary School participated in the Northern Cape Athletics Meeting as part of the John Taolo Gaetsewe team.

The athletes delivered outstanding performances and 7 learners were selected to represent the Northern Cape team at the Primary Schools National Athletics Championships in Cape Town 19-22 March in Cape Town.
